October 29th 2010- Nomination- Francophone Sub-Saharan Africa, August 2011. Laurie in Community Development working in a women’s empowerment project and Chris in Environmental Education and Awareness.
November 6th 2010- Receive medical and dental forms in the mail
January 18th 2011- Chris sends in his medical and dental forms
January 26th 2011- Chris receives notification his medical and dental forms have been received by the Peace Corps. Laurie sends in her forms
January 27th 2011- Chris receives dental clearance
February 8th 2011- Laurie receives notification her medical and dental forms have been received by the Peace Corps and that she has dental clearance
March 24th 2011- Contacted by the PC legal team to request a few documents before we can obtain legal clearance and scan and send same day
March 26th 2011- We both receive notification that we have been legally cleared
April 19th 2011- Receive notification that a decision has been made regarding our medical clearance and to wait for a letter in the mail. We are both contacted by a placement specialist a couple of hours later requesting resume and language study updates, so we know we have been medically cleared. Updated information is sent the same day.
April 21st 2011- Receive the official letter letting us know we have been medically cleared
May 16th 2011- Receive a call from our Placement Officer. She asks a few questions then tells us she is considering us for 2 programs in Sub-Saharan Africa, both in teaching and leaving in the August/September timeframe. She plans to send an invitation by the end of week.
May 20th 2011- Our Placement Officer sends us an email to let us know our invitation is in the mail. Sub-Saharan Africa, non-French, both teachers and leaving September 28th
May 22nd 2011- Receive official Peace Corps toolkit update indicating that our invitation is in the mail
May 25th 2011- Invitation arrives. Invited to serve in Mozambique teaching Math (Chris) and English (Laurie) leaving September 28th
